Delta College was recently ranked 7th best in producing science and technology technicians in the country by Community College Week.In its June issue, Community College Week ranked Delta College in several of its "top associate degree producers" lists.

"We're very pleased to receive this recognition," said Delta College President Jean Goodnow, in a statement. "Community colleges play an important role in providing an educated workforce for a changing economy nationally and here in the Great Lakes Bay Region."

Delta College was ranked as a top associate degree producer in the following categories:

• All Disciplines — Associate Degrees: Non-Minority: 70th with 1001 graduates
• Business, Management, Marketing and Related Support Services: 38th with 278 graduates
• Communication, Journalism and Related Programs: 41st with 17 graduates
• Criminal Justice: 48th with 72 graduates
• Precision Production: 19th with 21 graduates
• Science Technologies/Technicians: 7th with 33 graduates
• Security and Protective Services: 45th with 86 graduates

Community College Week totes itself as the independent voice covering community, technical and junior colleges. It ranks community colleges in several categories based on analysis of data from the U.S. Department of Education.
